- (FDD) Floppy disk drive - removable storage media hold ~1.5 MB of data
- (HDD) Hard Disk Drive - most often internal to the computer’s case holds large amounts of data including the (OS) Operating System and installed application programs ~ 20MB > 20GB
- Zip (+ other) removable disks are hybrid devices that hold lots of data 100-2000 GB
